Interesting
day at the train station in Little Rock, Arkansas, Wednesday, May 20,
2009. First was a long engine power move that arrived at 11:53 a.m.
from Long Beach, California (the ELBNL-17), then about 20 minutes later
the Pine Bluff local (YNL75) passed the station with UP Heritage 1982
(MoPac) in the lead, followed by UP Heritage 1996 (SP) and bright red
Canadian Pacific 8811. A very colorful train.

LEFT-A very long stack train. RIGHT-UP 4383, 10:34 a.m.
LEFT-Ashley, Drew & Northern HS 30552. RIGHT-This
Mockingbird sitting on the fence left-center seemed to be looking into
my other digital camera on the tripod. This bird always keeps a keen
eye on me when I walk the Amtrak platform most days for exercise (4
laps is a mile and a half). There's a nest in a tree about 3/4th
way down the platform.
UP
8077 leads a string of 16 engines on a move from Long Beach, California
to North Little Rock, Arkansas at 11:53 a.m (UP 8077, 4569, 4542, 4213,
4130, 4119, 4143, 4061, 4586, 4062, 4154, 4288, 4293, 4220, 4266, 8397).
RIGHT-UP
Heritage 1982 leads the daily North Little Rock to Pine Bluff local,
the YNL75, at 12:13 p.m. It is followed by UP 1996, the SP Heritage
unit and CP 8811, a bright red unit. This is the second time this week
these two Heritage units have led this train. They've been going from
North Little Rock to Pine Bluff to Jonesboro through Brinkley, AR, then
south from Jonesboro to Pine Bluff to North Little Rock twice so far.
To see a Youtube video of the train going away from the camera (the
sun was in my eyes looking the other way - the reason the still photos
look ok looking east is that I took the photos in RAW format and
adjusted for the reflected light), click on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGM55RAHOB4 My main interest is in still
photography, so I put my digital video camera on a tripod and start it
while I take the stills. Unfortunately, this time I started the video
about 50 seconds too soon, so fast-forward the video 50 seconds to see
the locomotives. You may contact me using this CONTACT FORM -
