LEFT-As
a loaded BNSF coal train headed south past the park where the
Bellville, Texas depot once stood, it appeared that weeds reached
up and ate DPU 6023. The Bellville Yard is down the hill. RIGHT-Backing
up a little in time, here's the BNSF train approaching the Highway 159
crossing at Bellville, 9:19 a.m. May 27. The lettering on the control
box is wrong saying it was Hwy 59.
LEFT-BNSF
9601 passing the site where the Bellville depot once stood. From what
someone told me here, the depot was on the other side of the trees. RIGHT-Looking south.
LEFT-The
long train stopped just before the two dpu's finished crossing Highway
159 at 9:26 a.m. RIGHT-Moving again at 9:34 a.m.
LEFT-BNSF 6023 about to disappear in the grass. RIGHT-Here's that monster grass photo again.
Going downhill toward Bellville Yard.
LEFT-Wild berries at the railroad park. RIGHT-Across Highway 36 from the park. Vegans need not apply.
LEFT-Honeysuckle
at the park. RIGHT-Another shot of the park looking north. It's tricky
getting in here as the entrance from Highway 36 is rough.
Looking south. I was told the Bellville depot was on this section of the park.
