Bald Knob, Arkansas Strawberry Homefest, Saturday, May 8, 2010.  This has been an annual celebration for decades. Back in the early part of the 20th century, there used to be unit strawberry trains out of here on the Missouri Pacific, up until the 1950s. This is also the day UP 1995 headed UP's Engineering Special through here. Bald Knob is an hours drive north of Little Rock on the busy Union Pacific Hoxie and Memphis Subs.  (Ken Ziegenbein photos)

Union Pacific's busy Hoxie Sub and Memphis Sub run through here. Note the old bridge signals, still in use.

Rubber Duckies!!! Don't you remember these from childhood in the bathtub and also at Fairs of the past.

The Bald Knob City Hall and Police station. Population in July 2008: 3,420. Estimated median house or condo value in 2008: $66,808 (it was $44,700 in 2000). (Bald Knob: $66,808 - Arkansas:  $105,700).

The Bald Knob old Missouri Pacific depot is to the left. It's now a train hobby shop and has been nicely restored. Its called Arkansas Traveler Hobbies (http://www.arkansastravelerhobbies.com/).
