Here's
a few trains, streetcars and a mockingbird in the rain here in Little
Rock this past week. I love taking photos in pouring rain, which I'll
do it again tomorrow (Sunday, March 11). The day I took the streetcar
pictures, I got totally soaked, but protected my camera at all costs!
lol.
My
mockingbird friend at the Little Rock train station, March 8. I feed
him and other birds crackers and popcorn at times. They almost come to
my hand at the car. There's also a hawk here and lots of scared pigeons
when the hawk is overhead.
LRNW
1544 and 1542, 9:52 a.m. March 8, a Thursday in steady rain, a
short-line railroad here in Litle Rock (Union Pacific owns the tracks
but they use them)
CN 2674, a Canadian National red, white and black locomotive, kind of unusualy here.
From
my car during a good downpour. Looking at weather radar across the
country, I see parts of Texas have been getting rain too the past few
weeks which is good since they've been in a drought for a long time.
Main Street in North Little Rock, March 8 heading north at 12:47 p.m.
The trolley barn is on the right.
Passing 6th Street North Little Rock.
The
drug store upper right of streetcar 410 in North Little Rock is the
oldest continuously operating drug store west of the Mississippi in the
same location. It began sometimes in the late 1800s.
The
Main Street Viaduct bridge over the Union Pacific (former Missouri
Pacific) tracks in North Little Rock was built in 1927. I walk on the
sidewalks on this bridge sometimes to take pictures of trains. It's
rather hazardous though since Main Street is so busy. Taken March 9,
Friday.
Union Pacific's Jenks Shops in the distance taken from the Main Street Bridge, March 9.
KRL 7105, a heavy hauler flatcar that moves things like large electrical transformers that weighs many tons.
