Abandoned roadbed of the Cotton Belt between North Little Rock and England, Arkansas. Here are a few shots of this line (which I think was taken up in the early 1990s) that I took August 31, 2009. I've also included some from the Plantation Agriculture Museum in Scott, Arkansas. Union Pacific recently restored and painted two SSW boxcars and donated them to the Scott museum.

Abandoned Cotton Belt roadbed just north of England, looking north, August 31, 2009. Highway 165 parallels it from North Little Rock to England.

North of the elevators in the previous scene, looking south.

Nearing Keo, Arkansas from the south. Keo is the home to Morris Antiques, which consists of several building full of antique furniture from all over the world. Some of this furniture is super expensive, but they say they ship worldwide.

Sunflowers on the roadbed.

Just south of Keo, looking south toward a structure that was built over a siding of the railroad. I have no idea what this structure was used for. The main line is to my left.

Just south of Keo. A crosstie is still visible.

In Keo. Another structure that apparently used to be over a siding of the Cotton Belt (former main line right of the structure).

Main line looking north. Highway 165 to the right.

Rails still in the road crossing in Keo.

Still in Keo.

Abandoned roadbed is where the tractors are. This is part of the museum.

Here are the two Cotton Belt Route boxcars painted by UP in North Little Rock and donated to the Plantation Museum.

Looking north.

Looking south. An old motorized handcar sits on the right of way.

You can see an Air Force C-130 overhead.

The donated boxcars are open for visitors.

Earlier in the day, I got this shot of UP 4204 passing some Riceland elevators in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
