A 4 1/2 hour late Amtrak Texas Eagle, No. 21, at Little Rock, AR on Sunday morning, July 24, 2011 Here's a few photos of the train arriving in Little Rock about 7:20 a.m. showing lots of people getting off and getting on. One reason for its lateness was a scheduled detour in Illinois due to track work.

Just coming off the Baring Cross bridge (Arkansas River) out of UP's yards in North Little Rock at 7:21 a.m.

Taken from the balcony of Union Station at 7:22 a.m.

It had 7 cars this day. Sorry, but I didn't write down the numbers.

The train almost takes up the whole 900-foot platform (at least that's what I was told the length of the platform is).

Track level. I was standing off the platform on the east end. It looks dark and wintry, but it was already 84 degrees and very humid.

Good number of passengers today. Normally it would be 3 a.m. when this train comes through, and yes the passenger count is the same even at that hour.

Looks like a busy train station of past years, right?

It's now 7:26 a.m.

7:28 a.m.

Taken from the east end of the station showing Union Station.

Baggage cart.

Ready to leave at 7:33 a.m.

Here's a Youtube video of the train leaving (click on the link below):

Gone to Texas and points west, 7:35 a.m.

Amtrak system map posted outside the station.

Timetable for the Texas Eagles.
