Amtrak's northbound Texas Eagle Number 22 got to Union Station in Little Rock, AR at 11:10 p.m., 20 minutes early, on Thursday night, December 12, 2013. It had Amtrak locomotive 66 on the point, one of the Amtrak 40th anniversary engines.  I also took pictures of the Arkansas State Capitol with its' new LED  Christmas lights.  The Capitol is only a couple of blocks away from the train station.

Amtrak locomotive No. 66 led the Texas Eagle Train No. 22 Thursday night, December 12, 2013. It arrived at Union Station 20 minutes early at 11:10 p.m.

Boarding at 11:15 p.m.

Week-old ice remained.

Downstairs tables and chairs on the Superliner Sightseer Lounge. Upstairs is seating with large windows to view the countryside and downstairs is where snacks and drinks are sold. Of course, it's almost midnight and most passengers are sleeping when the trains get to Little Rock.

It was 28 degrees. Little Rock has been much below normal in temperatures the past 7 days, some days 20 degrees below normal for highs. Normal high temp is 54 degrees, and last weekend it didn't get above 34. This ice on the parking lot has been here since Friday of  last week, December 6.

I drove around the station to the front of the train. I didn't want to slip on the ice. It's now 11:24 p.m.

Amtrak engine 66, 40th anniversary special locomotive. A freight was passing. 11:26 p.m. The train won't leave until 11:39 p.m.
