I took a driving trip to north Arkansas on Saturday, November 2, 2013 to get pictures of Fall colors. I even saw some camels along the way, plus I visited the famous Natural Bridge of Arkansas about 42 miles north of Conway. Geologists say this rock bridge was formed millions of years ago and is still stable.

Just north of Conway, Arkansas.

Along Arkansas Highway 336, which exits off of US Highway 65 a few miles north of Conway.

The road ended quick.

I don't know why the road was built to here. Maybe there was going to be a park or boat ramp?

Returning to US Highway 65, 15 mph curves.

Overlooking a lake and a speedboat.

These camels were next to US Highway 65 about 40 miles north of Conway, Arkansas. They were gentle and curious and let you pet them.

This was across the highway from the camel. Love it when there are so many colors, in this case red, yellow, green and blue.

I decided to finally tour the Natural Bridge of Arkansas. I've seen this sign for over 30 years and wondered what it looked like. Following are some photos.

The road to the Natural Bridge was carpeted with yellow and orange leaves.

No kidding! It was obvious you needed to go slow.

Entrance to the Natural Bridge. This is NOT a state park, but is private property. There's a $5 admission.

This is the stone bridge. Geologists say it was formed 30 million years ago and is stable. It was used to drag logs across in the 1920s. You can't get to the bridge to walk on it.

Another angle.

Walking path inside the park.

The bridge is to the right.

Outside the park and on the road back to Highway 65.

Hilltop tree.

I waited for the sun to shine on the trees on the other side of the lake, which was in shade.

Just ahead on this country road outside the Natural Bridge park is Highway 65.

Now at 2:22 p.m. on way

Distant mountains/hills looking west from US Highway 62 west of Harrison. I'm on my way to Eureka Springs.

Near Eureka Springs at 2:30 p.m.

A buzzard.

The 1886 Crescent Hotel on top of the ridge center.

Zoomed in. This is supposedly the most haunted hotel in Arkansas.

Deer in Eureka Springs.

Crescent Hotel from the front.

Taken from the hotel's front balcony.

Another view from the hotel taken at 5:04 p.m. I headed back to North Little Rock right after this. It's about a 3 hour drive.
