Tuesday, June 3, 2008. A rare meet of
the Little Rock & Western (coming
from Perry, Arkansas on their own line) and a Ferromex
locomotive heading a train on the UP Main passing Union Station. Had I
had one more glass of water for lunch, I'd have missed them.
Included are: Ferromex 4637 *** LRWN 7736 *** AKMD 722 *** NS 2665 ***
UP 9407 *** String of Candian hoppers *** KCS coil car 720118 being
hauled on a flatcar with its trucks on the flatcar as well.

LEFT-Two green signals indicate that the line is clear for the Little
Rock & Western train to head across the Baring Cross bridge as it
comes from the west on the far line. LRWN has its own tracks in the UP
yards in North Little Rock and they interechange and store cars there.
RIGHT-A LRWN train, headed by LRWN 7736 and Arkansas Midland 722 rounds
the curve from the line that goes to Perry (former Rock Island line), just as
Ferromex No. 4637, heading a long mixed freight, rounds the curve on
UP's Main No. 1 from southwest Arkansas and Texas. It's 12:02
p.m. June 3.
The UP train was stopping to wait for the LRWN to get across the
bridge.
LEFT-KCS coil car 720118 carried on a flatcar with its trucks.
RIGHT-Frog eating boy.
LEFT-A string of Canadian hoppers ended the train with the Ferromex
unit. RIGHT-At 1:12 p.m., an auto-train moved through headed by NS
2665.
