Here's
the preliminary schedules for UP's Operation Lifesaver trips in
Arkansas March 14-18, 2011. The trips are supposed to use UP heritage
locomotives 1982 (MoPac) and 1996 (SP) set up with one locomotive at
each end of the train so they don't have to turn engines. These
schedules were given me by John C. Jones, who is the official
photographer for the local Union Pacific area. Like anything associated
with a busy freight railroad, these times and places could change. I
will update this page as needed, so 'refresh' the page once in a while.
MONDAY, MARCH 14 - Round trip from Bald Knob to McRae to Bald Knob, leaving Bald Knob at 1 pm. SBKNL
TUESDAY, MARCH 15
- Leave North Little Rock 7 am going to Malvern then to Pine Bluff. I
assume it'll come back from Malvern then head south on the White Bluff
Sub at Little Rock Junction. The 7 am departure time is all that I
have...no estimate on arrival at Malvern or Pine Bluff. SNLPB
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16 - Pine Bluff to Camden on the Pine Bluff Sub. Leave PBF 7 a.m. SPBCM
THURSDAY, MARCH 17 - Round trip from Camden to Stamps back to Camden. Leave 730 a.m. SCMCM
FRIDAY, MARCH 18
- A 6-hour trip, starting at Camden south to Lewisville then to
Texarkana on the Pine Bluff Sub then going north from Texarkana on the
Little Rock Sub to North Little Rock then using the Van Buren Sub west
to Morrilton. No specific times are known at the various towns. I understand that this is a dead-unoccupied move.
I'll update this web site if I find out anything else.
