Little Rock streetcars, June 30, 2009.
A Streetcar Named Desire - Waiting at the Peabody stop for the Blue Line streetcar, No. 410 about noon.
Courthouse
stop. The 100-plus year old courthouse with the tower is still actively
used. The court building to the right is the bankruptcy court.
Streetcar 409 passes the Peabody Hotel along West Markham Street, moving to the east. It was near the lunch hour.
Taken from inside the Flying Saucer restaurant and beer emporium.
Looking west along West Markham's intersection with Scott Street.
Peabody
stop. The Green Line only runs the Little Rock Loop, while the Blue
Line runs both the Little Rock and North Little Rock loops.
Eastbound crossing Scott Street.
Same streetcar looking east along West Markham and the River Market District.
Merging
with the heavy traffic on West Markham. After crossing Cantrell at the
light, the streetcar will be on President Clinton Avenue. The Clinton
Library is about a mile straight ahead (east). I'm in this part of
Little Rock every weekday.
Peabody stop.
Same.
Looking west along West Markham. The Capitol Hotel is just to the left of the streetcar.
Crossing West Markham and Scott.
