My first trains of 2011 at Union Station in Little Rock, Arkansas, January 1, plus some night streetcar photos from New Years Eve in the River Market. Of special interest is 'unpatched' SSW 7637, frame and cab only, KCS Belle units 3999 and 4106 and UP 4141, the Bush unit at Jenks.

LEFT-This was taken about 11 pm New Years Eve. The streetcar was heading east along Clinton Avenue in the busy River Market District of Little Rock. Note the line of people waiting to get into the various clubs. Right after this photo, I went home to my cat Tigger and watched 2011 come in on TV. RIGHT-This accidentally blurry shot looks sort of artistic as a streetcar turns left into the River District after crossing the Arkansas River.

LEFT-UP 4141, Bush Library unit, and 'unpatched' SSW 7637, cab only, sitting in front of UP's Jenks Shops in North Little Rock. RIGHT-Interesting shot. Being New Years Day, the place was deserted.


LEFT-UP 3946 and NS 8386, 12:05 p.m., my first moving train of 2011. This was the QLDNL (Laredo, Tx to N Little Rock) and was 7,200 feet long (via scanner conversations). RIGHT-Large load on KRL 27106 heavy hauler.
