Clear skies and lots of train action at Union Station in Little Rock, AR on Saturday, January 8, 2011. It was a windy, chilly day with snow forecast for the next day. Of special interest is new CN 2108, new GATX hoppers, solid consist of UP new hoppers with dpu, a 10-locomotive Pine Bluff local, and other things.

LEFT-Southbound Pine Bluff local with 10 locomotives, most of which are just being transferred to Pine Bluff. Headed by UP 7911, followed by UP 5157, 8655, 1551, 4063, 9566, 4486, 9720, 5127, and 1474. It was 11:49 a.m. This train was 6,934 feet long, 96 cars. Typical of this local. LEFT-A meet was about to happen at 12:06 p.m. RIGHT-UP 5978 southbound about to pass the stopped train with UP 4315 as second unit, 12:08 p.m.


LEFT-The southbound on the right is pulling a solid consist of new UP hoppers. RIGHT-New UP hoppers.


LEFT-UP 92874 is one of the new hoppers. This train will have a dpu. RIGHT-UP dpu 5826 passing UP 5164 at 12:16 p.m.


LEFT-UP 4315 leaving at 12:17 p.m. RIGHT-UP 4060 and NS 8941, 12:32 p.m.
