Here's a few trains today, Saturday February 5, 2011 at the station in Little Rock. It was a rare, sunny day with temperatures in the lower 40s. Snow was still on the cars and in shady areas and more snow is forecast for Sunday night and Monday and a major snowstorm could be in the works for the middle of next week, when we could easily get a foot of snow in the Little Rock area as temperatures fall into the teens by mid week. So, I'm taking advantage of any good days I can for train photography.

5) NS 101506 flat with steel plates
6) TTZX 14467 and other loads of lumber
7) SPMW 7228 cute short hopper
8) Snow on parked cars


A northbound approaches at 2:16 p.m. "Mount Snow Ballast" is on the left.


UP 9216 leads a long consist of locomotives northbound with a long mixed freight from Pine Bluff.


GMTX 2122 and NS 9818. According to Jr Leal, via Yahoo Group Railspot,  GMTX 2122 is former Rock Island 4312 - "James H. Windsor III", RI railfan, photographer, and stockholder.


UP 4848 was the seventh locomotive in the consist.


NW 188210, heavily loaded gondola.


Steel plates on two flatcars, one being NS 101506.


Several loads of wood, one car TTZX 14467.


Cute short hopper, SPMW 7228.


This train had a true mix of freight cars. There was even an autorack.


Snow still on cars parked at the station.


UP 1562, 1585 and 1556, some of the newly refurbished SD40-2's, at 2:46 p.m.
