Monday, February 6, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was a sunny, cool day, around 50 degrees. I caught a westbound Little Rock & Western train passing a northbound UP train, headed by a CSX unit. Plus more trains.

UP 5051. The train was northbound, taken from the hill north of 2nd Street. Union Station is to the right of the picture.


CSX 715. The building and cars in the upper part of the photo is the world headquarters of Dillards Department Stores.

UP 4366 on Main 1 south of the station. It was followed by a Ferromex 4096, NS 6571 and a GMTX blue unit, number unknown. This sat here for hours and I had to leave before it moved.

Little Rock & Western LRWN 1541, 1:29 p.m. on its way west to Perry, Arkansas, following the former Rock Island's tracks after it leaves the station area.






It's rare to see the LRWN train passing a UP train like this, especially a UP train with a CSX unit on the point, CSX 4558, at 1:30 p.m.

The LRWN train joins the former Rock Island tracks around this curve.
