I saw both UP 1982 and 1989 heritage locomotives Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the station in Little Rock, AR plus other trains including a Altrol Catalysts hopper, MKT red gondola, D&RGW faded Rio Grande hopper, the station hawk and many other trains. I noticed several old, faded freight cars without graffiti, which is very unusual. There were 6 locomotive roadnames today: UP, CSXT, NS, BNSF, FXE, RLIX.

Locomotives today: UP 1982, 1989, 4469, 8810, 7054, 5574, 4253, 4739, 1958, 1762, 4074, 8559, 4784, 6618, 7208, 3917, 8760, 8736, 3796, 4456, 4322, 8647, 1882 ***  CSXT 400, 7661, 451 *** NS 2699, 9499 *** BNSF 6592, 6583, 4977 *** FXE 4695 *** RLIX 103.

UP 1982, 12:39 a.m. March 15. Thanks for a Facebook message heads up from a UP person otherwise I wouldn't have been here. ALDAS-13

UP 1989, 10:13 a.m. March 15. We didn't expect it to be here.

UP 1989 was the single leader of a combination autorack/stack train with UP 8810 on the rear. ILBMN-12

Passing freights.

NAHX 487353 Altrol Catalysts hopper.

SP 12---20 (can't read all the numbers) gondola, built 8-74. Notice no graffiti on this car either. Is UP finding old stored freight cars and beginning to use them again? I rarely see one with lettering/numbers so faded that I can't read them.

MKT 16491 red gondola. I saw many of these in my youth come through La Grange, Fayetteville, New Ulm, Cat Spring, and Sealy, Texas on the Katy Smithville Sub. This sub is still a very active railroad owned by UP.

CNW 178449 green hopper.

DGRW 10013 very faded Rio Grande hopper. Also notice again that it has no graffiti, so I'm wondering if these old faded cars have been stored securely somewhere over the years.

The 1989-headed train had these Matson containers in the consist, which I've never seen here before.

UP 8810, dpu of the stack/autorack train.

UP 7054, 10:35 a.m. northbound. It was a dark, cloudy day and I might have overcompensated exposure a little to see the locomotives better. GSNDRK-13 (Grain-Nacogdoches, TX-Sterling, IL)
