Finally a sunny day and warmer temperatures at Little Rock, AR on Sunday, March 15, 2015. We had seven different roadnames on locomotives today. Included today was a string of new hoppers built this month, March 2015, including SHPX 434659, hopper OGEX 2718 hauled on flatcar ITTX 912682, Cotton Belt Hycube SSW 65102  built 2-78 rebuilt 12-98 lettering applied 11-14.

This was taken yesterday, Saturday March 14, 2015 in the rain at UP's Downing B. Jenks Shops in North Little Rock, What a difference a day makes with the sunny skies on Sunday.

It's a EMD GMD1 built for the CN in 1959. You can still see the faded CN lettering. It was at the Dardanelle & Russellville Railroad since 2006 and is on its way to  Evergreen Packaging Mill at Pine Bluff.


Now it's Sunday March 15. LRWN 1541 running to the UP's North Little Rock yard at 10:42 a.m. to pick up a train. It's passing Union Station in Little Rock.

NS 9961. NS 9961 was power for the WNLKCW-13 (Work train-N. Little Rock-Kansas City-Work equipment) This train was a Derrick for Kansas City. The train originated at Granite Mtn. and was annulled from NLR to KC.
