First rosebuds in rose bush in my front yard, taken April 8, 2011. These rose bushes were bought over 10 years ago at the Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas, which is in warm southeast Texas. They've withstood some bitterly cold weather here in Arkansas the past few years, including temperatures as cold at 4 degrees last winter with several inches of snow (during that same cold outbreak, Siloam Springs, in northwest Arkansas, fell to 30 degrees below zero actual temperature). But the roses continued to come back bigger and better each year.
