A nice, warm Saturday evening in Little Rock with clear skies and soft breezes. So what do you think I did? Go on a date? Go to a nice eating establishment with friends and take in a movie? Go to a party? Go to a concert? NO....I did what every honest railfan does....I went to the train station and got some evening photos of trains! (However, I did have a great time with a great friend earlier in the day, and no, she wasn't a railfan - lol)

Included today, June 25, 2011:
1) UP 9555, 9456
2) PBRX 200612 special boxcars
3) Dove
4) Sunset over tracks and Arkansas River
5) Weeds in twilight

Me and this dove at Union Station waited for trains. The date is Saturday, June 25, 2011.

Dwarf signals in the sunset.

Sun glistening off shiny rails and empty gondolas head north.

Little Rock, AR Amtrak sign.

Thought everybody would like to see a weed in the twilight.

A southbound finally arrives at 8:01 p.m.

The setting sun on the face of UP 9555, 8:02 p.m.

UP 9555 and 9456.

Heading into the night.

Four special boxcars, one being PBRX 200612. According to Tom Cobb from the Railspot Yahoo Group, the four PBRX box cars are all former Amtrak cars designed for merchandise service since discontinued.  Built for Amtrak these box cars were never equipped with electrical cables and therefore had to be entrained in the rear portion of Amtrak passenger trains. Also, according to Jay from the same group, these cars are owned by Tyson . He gave this link: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?id=510492

Sunset over the tracks, 8:12 p.m.

Sunset over the Arkansas River taken from the Broadway Bridge, 8:18 p.m.
