Here's one of the families I do things with here in Little Rock. Yes, I also put a rose in my ear! lol

UP 9590, 11:04 a.m. July 9, 2011.

UP 9236 in that retro 2-tone varnish paint scheme.

UP 2209.

MKT 572 green Katy hopper.

Ashley Drew & Northern boxcar ALM 5377.

Two loads of plywood.

UP 4931 and CSX 7901, 11:15 a.m.

MP 818085 airplane parts carrier.

MP 522788 and 723969 rusty hoppers, rare because of no graffiti.

Green CNW gondola 74503.

u24x55 22596980 beams.

PTTX 142259 small pipe load.

Green BN 28618 boxcar.

Tube flowers on a climbing bush on a fence next to Union Station. Note the bee in the top tube.

UP 1628 and 1616, 12:57 p.m.

UP 6845 with an empty coal train, 1:09 p.m.

UP/SP 6270 dpu.

Green signal at CPX 346 milepost on the Amtrak siding at Union Station at 1:28 p.m., meaning a east/northbound freight is going to be run over this siding to get around the stopped coal train ahead on UP Main 2, which is still in the block. This always means 'up close and personal' trains, but I usually try to get behind the fence anyway since the freight cars can overlap the yellow loading area.

Joe getting ready for the approaching train.

This autorack and frame train was headed by new Ferromex 4049 at 1:33 p.m.

Ferromex 4049, with shiny paint, 1:34 p.m. July 9.

That's dark green paint on the Ferromex, not black.

UP 4215.

Frames.

Autoracks.

Getting back on Main 2, 1:44 p.m. Meanwhile the coal train has left.

UP 6938 Centennial on display at UP's Jenks Shops in North Little Rock, July 9, 1:56 p.m.

George Bush Library unit UP 4141 still sitting here at Jenks since 2009. No, I don't have any further information on this unit, except that UP moves it once every few weeks under its own power to the back of the facility, I assume to test the engine.

Skip ahead one day to Sunday July 10. UP 4654 southbound at 10:38 a.m.

Little Rock and Western 1542, westbound on the Vinegar Spur at 11:01 a.m.

Rock Island blue hopper, NAHX 65607.
