Here's a few photos from my day at Union Station in Little Rock, Arkansas on Sunday, August 21, 2011, plus a photo of two nice ladies I took to lunch and a large hawk that captured and ate a rabbit at the station (missed a train to get the shot of the hawk).

UP 7099, 12:27 p.m.

BNSF 6714 is passing UP 7099 at 12:27 p.m.

The BNSF-headed train was baretables and moving much faster than the one headed by UP 7099.

This was sorta neat in that you could see the other train over the baretables (that will carry containers on Intermodal trains).

It was 12:30 p.m. and I decided to go to lunch...but will return later for more photos.

These are the two ladies I had lunch with at a nice Mexican restaurant in North Little Rock.

A plate full of food. I like taking pictures of food.

Back at the station again at 5:09 p.m. with NS 9750 and 6683 heading a northbound. It was cloudy-bright all day. It had rained most of the morning. Yes I know it's not fair for us to be getting all this rain when most of Texas and other nearby states are dry as a bone.

We have lots of tall, green weeds around here.

Here's the first of 3 photos of a large hawk that has captured and was eating a rabbit at the station. This hawk lives close as we see it scare the pigeons at times.

The rabbit was right below the hawk. Sorry I couldn't get closer.

Mmmmm....yummy rabbit for Sunday dinner!! Although I had a 32X zoom, the bird obviously didn't like me and another person taking photos of his private gourmet meal.

6:54 p.m. The sun broke through the clouds. A southbound heading toward us is about to pass the signals.

Nice, peaceful scene at the station at dusk.
