Here's a few trains Saturday afternoon, August 25, 2012 at Little Rock, Arkansas, including a relatively rare BNSF/Santa Fe Warbonnet locomotive, which was the dpu of a BNSF oil train. I've also included a couple of flower and sunset shots and a photo of the Moon and Union Station. Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the Moon, died today at 82 years old, and I thought a Moon shot would be appropriate.

Included:
1) UP/Rio Grande 1900
2) UP 8584, 4364, 8512, 8574
3) BNSF 6247, 4331, 748-warbonnet
4) Sunset and flowers
5) Union Station and Moon

UP/Rio Grande 1900 in North Little Rock on August 23 with the downtown area of Little Rock in the background. From this angle, 1900 appears unpatched, but it has the yellow 1900 patch on the side. It is used extensively in yard and local service here.

Oil tank cars using a closeup lens.

BNSF 748, the dpu of the oil train, 7:05 p.m. I included more photos of this warbonnet unit, my favorite paint scheme. It looks quite good in the evening sun. I wish BNSF would consider repainting some of the remaining warbonnet locomotives with a fresh coat of red, yellow and silver and call them heritage units.

Colorful: Blue, green, yellow, red, black.

Sunset and train, 7:21 p.m.

UP 8512, 7:22 p.m.

Sunset through a moving stack train.

UP 8574, dpu of the stack train. It was pretty dirty.

7:25 p.m. the sun was just going below the horizon.

Colorful clouds, Union Station and the Moon, upper left of the station. Neil Armstrong, the first man to land and walk on the Moon in July 1969, died today and I thought a shot of the Moon would be appropriate. I remember seeing that landing live on TV in 1969.
