I caught fifteen trains passing Union Station in Little Rock, AR Sunday, October 2, 2011, 14 of which were in the afternoon. (The one I got in the morning was early, then I left to go to church and do other things). Times of the trains were: 8:33am, 145pm, 2:05pm, 2:21pm, 2:50pm, 3:08pm, 3:19pm, 3:28pm, 3:36pm, 4:13pm, 4:54pm, 4:56pm, 5:03pm, 5:29pm, and 5:35pm. As you all know, Union Pacific is the main railroad in Little Rock, but today you wouldn't know it at times....locomotive roadnames seen today were: UP, KCS (one 'Belle' one grey), CSX, BNSF (one 'warbonnet'), and NS. Also, there was a high school senior girl there having her picture taken by her family with a train in the background. No, she did not get on the tracks.
Also, a rare passing of two KCS locomotives in Little Rock, KCS 4579 passing KCS 4689 about 5 p.m. And, BNSF 4807 also passed KCS 4689 just after the other train did.

Posing still.

KCS 4579 passing KCS 4689. How often do you see two KCS locomotives pass each other at Little Rock, UP territory?

A BNSF train with a loaded crude oil train from North Dakota heading south at 5:03 p.m. It was headed by BNSF 4807 and had a BNSF/SF Warbonnet in the consist.

Good ole' Santa Fe Warbonnet 608.

NS 2616 on the BNSF train.

Back-lit Santa Fe 608. Yes, I had the sun shield on the camera but the train at this point in front of Union Station is heading due west and the sun was right in my face. It took a bit of photoshopping to get it to show up.

NS 2616.

As I said earlier, this is a BNSF crude oil train from North Dakota.

End of the train.

UP K-9 police car. There was a large party in the station's ballroom and lots of cars in the parking lot, and special agents show up at these events, as well as when Amtrak's Texas Eagle arrives each night around midnight and 3 a.m. He came over and all of us had a friendly chat. I've seen him several times and no, they don't mind us taking pictures at the station. They just don't want the public or kids to get on the tracks.

UP 6519, 5:29 p.m. It's almost impossible to get any decent northbound photos at this time of day with a sunny sky.

CSX 7654, 5:35 p.m.

Here's the cars for the ballroom event.
