Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the station in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was a rare sunny day here. More rain will move in Thursday through Friday and may give us over 3 inches of additional rainfall. As of October 28, Little Rock is over 22 inches above normal for the year,  having already received 62.57 inches this year. Included today is a quick shot of UP 4141, the George Bush Library unit at Jenks Shops in North Little Rock, plus:

LEFT-UP 2460 and 2420 at 10:39 a.m., southbound. RIGHT-UP 9743, 11:11 a.m. southbound with a long string of loaded gondolas.


LEFT-GCCX gons. Looking up the GCCX reporting marks, I came up with GATX Capital Corporation. RIGHT-GCCX 700062. These looked sort of sharp in the long train. They were hauling some sort of aggregate material.


UP 1539 on a short southbound at 11:45 a.m. On its way to Gurdon, Arkansas.


Another southbound at 12:04 p.m. UP 9793, 12:05 p.m. on the daily YNL75 transfer job to Pine Bluff.

LEFT-UP 9417, 1:43 p.m. RIGHT-GMTX 2165 on a light transfer move from Biddle Yard (former Rock Island) to the North Little Rock yards, 2:10 p.m.


UP 8653, 2:27 p.m. Another new or freshly painted locomotive, UP 8653.


DPU-UP 8657. Another clean unit.


UP 4141, the George Bush Library unit, is still sitting at Jenks Shops in North Little Rock, AR as of today, October 28, at 2:46 p.m. It's been here since March 27, 2009 and has been in other parts of the yards since February 12.  No plans to move it anytime soon. Rumors say it'll be here at least into Spring 2010.  Nobody knows for sure.
