Only one train today as I was out of time. I tried a new color setting, but I think it's too saturated. I also included a shot of our station hawk overhead and my cat Tigger. Locomotives today: UP 2420 and UP 2426.


Southbound UP 2420 at 10:42 a.m. Note that it's switching to the Amtrak siding, so it'll be up close and personal when it passes me.


The Amtrak siding gets used once in awhile for freights if operating conditions warrant. Usually the turnout between Main 1 and Main 2 is fouled, so trains get routed from Main 2 to the Amtrak siding, as is the case here. A coal train was stopped just before this move on Main 1, still fouling the switch to Main 2. It had moved before this train arrived.
