BKTY gondola 12482. From an email by Tom Balzen: " These cars of several types were leased in the late 60s by the Katy from Bankers Trust and as such had reporting marks BKTY.  I had a Katy Car Flyer from the late 1960s and addressed these cars and also stated that Bankers Trust was an affiliate of the Southern Pacific Company". Another comment from Danny Sisk: "In your post with a pic of a MKT gondola listed BKTY..Wasnt the "B" added during Ballingers time as president of Katy ? The "B" was for him is what Ive always heard? This was during the time Katy was in dire straits and had lenders holding the RR hostage(as colateral).

This is a Loggerhead Shrike and has a high pitched sound. It's a very friendly bird and sometimes lands on the fence only a few feet away from me. Sometimes two birds have a dueling sing-fest with one across the tracks and the other my side of the tracks.
