Our station hawk on its favorite perch at 7:34 a.m.

Not a very clear photo, but I was still using a high ISO sensitivity setting  (10,000), so it will be grainy. I'm thinking of getting a full-frame sensor camera, which would allow me to take these night and low-light shots with a higher shutter speed and better resolution, but those cameras are super expensive, like $3-5,000.

BNSF 5507 passing on the Amtrak siding, 9:33 a.m. on the UAOHIJ-23 Unit train New South Yard, TX-Bridge Jct, AR.  UP recently upgraded this track with new ties so occasional freights can use it at a little higher speed than before the upgrade. The previous coal train had stopped for a crew change with the DPU fouling the switch between Main 2 and Main 2, so trains can be dispatched on the Amtrak siding to get around that switch. The disadvantage is much slower speeds, I'd say 10 mph or less since you could run faster than the train but not walk faster.

Up close and personal, BNSF 5507 passing at 9:33 a.m. I was on the other side of the fence leaning over.
