Trains, elephants and horseback riders in Little Rock and North Little Rock, Arkansas on Sunday, December 5, 2010. It was below freezing and windy.

After I left the train station, I had brunch with good friends at Ashley's fine dining restaurant in the 4-Star Capitol Hotel in downtown Little Rock, then we all went to the Ringling Bros-Barnum & Bailey Circus in North Little Rock's Verizon Arena at 1 p.m.  Shown are a few elephants performing. This is RBBB's 1-ring Illuscination Circus which travels by semi-trucks, not the full 3-ring version of Ringling Bros' Circus which travels by rail on long circus trains. Illuscination is more up close and personal and you can pay full attention on one act at a time. It's worth seeing. They do several illusionary-magical type acts as well as traditional circus acts, such as trapeze and wire-walking.


Am I in Texas or what? Driving home after the circus, there were several horseback riders on Main Street in North Little Rock in the right lane of a 4-lane street. There was a Christmas parade earlier in the downtown area, so I suspect these were part of that parade. I'm heading north here and the road crosses the Interstate 40 overpass a quarter mile ahead.
