UP 1996, the Southern Pacific heritage locomotive and UPY 144 in North Little Rock, Tuesday March 1, 2011. I also included some vivid and multi-colored flowers at the Promenade Shopping Center in western Little Rock. And a streetcar passing my parked car in the River Market of Little Rock.

UP 1996, the Southern Pacific heritage unit, on the service track in UP's North Little Rock yards at 12:17 p.m. March 1. It arrived here from the Van Buren Sub about 9 a.m.

UPY 144. According to UtahRails (http://utahrails.net/all-time/upy-ccrcl.php), UPY 144 was SP 7778, a B30-7.

The sign says to park inside the white line on the main street going through the River Market, otherwise you will be towed. You can see why. If you park on or over the white line, you will be towed because the street car can't move, resulting in all the cars behind it having to stop. Also, one does NOT open your car door to get out when a streetcar is passing. It's parallel parking all along this street.

Colorful spring flowers to the entrance to the Promenade Shopping Center in west Little Rock.
