A cool (50s) and rainy day in Little
Rock, Arkansas, Sunday April 27, 2008. Included today was an 'almost'
unpatched Santa Fe unit, No. 640 and since the Warbonnet scheme of
Santa Fe is one of my favoites, I got several pictures of it in this
'rare' terrotiry. Also today: UP 8552, 4634, 2725 *** NS 8923 *** BNSF
983, 7728 *** 'Jesus Saves' on black tank car.

Trying to keep my camera dry, I
climbed the spiral staircase to the balcony area of Union Station to
take a few photos today. Here's UP 8552 at 9:38 a.m.
LEFT-NS 8923, 9:52 a.m. RIGHT-The headlight of a southbound is
reflected off a trailer of a northbound as it crosses the Arkansas
River. A cool, moody shot.
The headlight beloned to UP 4634, at 10:00 a.m. For your information,
we are NOT in a drought as you can tell. So far this year, the Little
Rock area has received 22.31 inches of rain, which is 5.74 inces above
normal. About a hundred miles north of here, they are 10 inches above
normal.
BNSF trackage rights train stopped at the station due to a raised
Baring Cross bridge span (to let
barges pass). It's headed by Santa Fe 640, an almost unpatched
unit (with just the white BNSF under
the right window). Time was 10:42 a.m.
Had to get a shot with the Amtrak sign.
LEFT-A sort of rare sight looking through the arches from the station.
RIGHT-BNSF 983 and 7728 trails the 640, all in different paint schemes.
RIGHT-'Jesus Saves' on a black tank car in the pouring rain. At least
this graffiti is clean.
UP 2725 accelerating southbound at 11:34 a.m.
