I caught just a couple of trains at the station in Little Rock today, Sunday July 19, 2009. I played around with Paint Shop Pro X2 on a couple of photos, making one look like one of the first color glass photos taken in 1904. Included today:

1) UP 8343, 7415, 9371, 2420

UP 8343, 8:43 a.m. It had a DPU. There were a few showers west of the area. Temperatures were about 10 degrees below normal, in the lower 60s. Pine Bluff, 45 miles south of here, had a record low of 63, breaking the old record low of 64 set way back in 1910.

DPU UP 7415.

UP 9371, 9:26 a.m. I used Paint Shop Pro X2's "Time Machine' to make this look like a 1904 color glass photo. According to the notes: "Early color - 1904. Autochrome was a popular method of producing early color photographs. This method was developed by the Lumiere brothers in 1904. It used potato starch granules, dyed red, green and blue, to create color images on glass, similar to a slide." (Photo history lesson for the day :-)

UP 2420, 10:18 a.m. southbound.
