Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the station in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was a coolish day with temperatures in the 70s. There were nine locomotives on one southbound mixed train, including a KCS Belle unit. Included today:
1) Flock of geese flew overhead about 9 a.m.
2) UP 9355, 9:23 a.m.
3) UP 4108, 10:50 a.m.
4) Line of Canadian hoppers
5) UP 4577, 10:50 a.m.
6) UP 5126, also 10:50 a.m. (passing other train)
7) GMTX 5126
8) UP 9603 plus eight other colorful locomotives leading a long southbound mixed train at 11:13 a.m. Other locos in this consist include KCS 4586, CSX 7780, KCS 4101 (Belle colors), UP 6341 plus four other UP units.
9) Cities Service Company hopper
10) Shiny, new white tankers.

LEFT-About 9 a.m., some geese flew over. I imagine these are local birds that live on the many lakes around here. If it's Canadian Geese going south for the winter in August, then we must be starting a new ice age. RIGHT-UP 9355, 9:23 a.m. from the south.

LEFT-UP 4108, 10:15 a.m. RIGHT-A lonely and forlorn boxcar in the middle of autoracks.


LEFT-Line of Canadian hoppers, always colorful. RIGHT-UP 4577, 10:50 a.m.


LEFT-UP 5126 southbound, also at 10:50 a.m. I feel a meet coming on. RIGHT-UP 4577-led train northbound (left) on Main 1 passes UP 5126-led southbound train (right) on Main 2.


RIGHT-GMTX 2152.


RIGHT-UP 9603 leads a long, colorful engine consist (9 locomotives!), pulling a very log mixed train, southbound at 11:13 a.m. It included a KCS Belle and other KCS unit and a CSX unit plus more UP locos.
