I was in Fort Worth, Texas on Thursday, July 31, 2014 and my friend and I railfanned part of the day and caught UP 1982, the Missouri Pacific Heritage locomotive, accidently in two places, one near Tower 55 about 4 p.m. and later as we were driving back to Jerry's home we caught 1982 again at 6 p.m., this time on a BNSF freight in the Forest Hill area of Fort Worth, at the Hartman Drive and Bisbee Road intersection. Timing was perfect as we turned left at the crossing and paced the train down Bisbee Road. Unfortunately, as I was holding the camera out the passenger-side window moving a train speed, a yellow jacket hit my arm and I got stung. Since I'm not allergic to yellow jacket bites, the swelling went down in about 2 hours, BUT I got my shot. Has BNSF captured 1982 temporarily? I've heard it's been on the BNSF awhile.

Here is UP 1982 in the Tower 55 area south of the Intermodal Transportation Center in Forth Worth at 3:56 p.m. July 31.

UP 1982 and BNSF 8099. We'll see these locomotives again in a couple of hours across town.

All the cement ties are part of the Tower 55 improvement construction.

Jump ahead 2 hours to 5:56 p.m. at the Hartman Drive rail crossing in the Forest Hill area of Fort Worth. The road that parallels the railroad is Bisbee Road. UP 1982 is in the locomotive consist, the same BNSF locomotives that were in the Tower 55 photos.

BNSF 8099 and UP 1982.

The reason we were on this road was to avoid the rush hour traffic on the freeways. What luck!

NS 7529, still 5:56 p.m.

Made a quick turn left and the chase was on. No traffic here.

Catching up to the head end.

This is where I got stung by the yellow jacket.

Pacing the 1982, 5;57 p.m.

Finally had to stop chasing.
