UP
Heritage locomotives 1996 (SP) and 1982 (MoPac) headed a mixed freight
northbound through Brinkley, Arkansas on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 10:40
a.m. They were on their way to Jonesboro and I heard that the two units
will be used on Operation Lifesaver trains in northeast Arkansas May
26-29 (Piggot-Marmaduke May 26, Paragould May 27, Jonesboro May 28, Pine Bluff May 29). Many
thanks for the anonymous tip on this train's status. I knew it was in
Pine Bluff and would eventually be going to Jonesboro, but I had no
idea which day until I got the special email. - Ken Z
UP 1996 (SP Heritage) leads UP 1982 (MoPac Heritage) past the Brinkley, Arkansas Depot Museum at 10:40 a.m. May 18, 2009
Purple and yellow flowers(weeds??)
frame the orange, red and blue of the heritage units. This train was
going north on the predominately southbound UP Jonesboro Sub.
Thought
I'd add this bread and butter train for UP that came through southbound
at 10:56 a.m., the UPS expedited container train from Chicago. It was
headed by UP 4433.
