Here are some photos of UP steam engine 844 arriving in North Little Rock, AR on Wednesday June 8, 2011, plus other trains and the crowd of people.

Special UP Agent and the crowd of people starting to line up at 10:44 a.m. June 8. The train spent the night at Bald Knob, about an hour north of Little Rock, and will arrive here after 11.

A northbound just exited the Baring Cross bridge at 10:51 a.m.

The consist of of this train is UP 4749, 9544, 9361, KCS Belle 4682. The Arkansas State Capitol is in the background.

UP's Mark Davis, right,  was filming the event.

Ready for 844 to arrive. Jenks Shops in in the background. This is where UP 4141, the George Bush locomotive, is stored.

More of the crowd.

844 arrives at 11:31 a.m. Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe was on board, and I understand he rode the  locomotive from Bald Knob to here. Note the US and Arkansas flags, plus a 'Governor Mike Beebe' tape was under the 844 number on the side of the locomotive.

11:37 a.m.

Another northbound at 11:45 a.m. This would be a good place to railfan, but it's off limits on 'normal' days.

Moving past the switch to back into the siding for display.

UP 1982 was part of the consist.

Deboarding at 12:13 p.m.

Here's that Governor Mike Beebe sign on the cab of 844.

UP 8376 passes 844 at 12:23 p.m.

Photos being taken.

Elk drawn on a railcar.

To me, this is why Union Pacific runs these steam trips. The memories and bonding between grandfather and grandson will last a long time.

Another train passes at 4:04 p.m. I was waiting for a windmill/wind turbine train, but it didn't pass before I left. That turbine train was carrying windmill blades manufactured right here in Little Rock.
